And cozyflavorhome is my little corner of the internet!
I first fell in love with cooking back in 2015 when I was still working as a graphic designer in Portland, OR. A rainy Thursday I whipped up a quick rosemary‑infused chicken for a friend, and the look on their face made me realize I wanted to share more than just pictures. In early 2016 I turned that impulse into cozyflavorhome, a simple blog where I posted the recipes I was testing in my tiny apartment kitchen.
The site has grown a lot since those early days. By March 2020 I hit 50,000 unique visitors a month, and in September 2022 I released my first e‑book, “Seasonal Comforts,” which has been downloaded over 2,300 times. I’ve added a weekly newsletter, a small shop for handmade spice blends, and a “Ask Vera” column that now answers more than 150 questions each month. Each milestone feels like a friendly high‑five from the community that keeps coming back for home‑cooked comfort.
I live in Asheville, NC with my husband, Mark, and our two kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not stirring a pot, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge, tending to my herb garden, or digging through crates of vintage vinyl at the local record shop. My favorite things are fresh basil, a good cup of black tea, and the sound of rain against the kitchen window while a stew simmers.
If you’re looking for a place that feels like a chat over a kitchen table, you’ve come to the right spot. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you find a recipe that makes your home a little cozier.
